The Objective
The goal is clear: have a better three-card hand than the other players at the table. The player with the highest-ranking hand at the end of the betting rounds wins the pot.
Hand Rankings (Highest to Lowest)
- Trio or Trail (Set): Three cards of the same rank. (e.g., A-A-A is the highest, 2-2-2 is the lowest).
- Pure Sequence (Straight Flush): Three consecutive cards of the same suit. (e.g., A♥ K♥ Q♥ is the highest).
- Sequence (Straight): Three consecutive cards, but not all of the same suit. (e.g., A♠ K♥ Q♦).
- Color (Flush): Three cards of the same suit that are not in a sequence. (e.g., K♠ J♠ 2♠).
- Pair (Double): Two cards of the same rank. The value of the third card (the "kicker") determines the winner if two players have the same pair.
- High Card: If no player has a pair or better, the hand with the highest single card wins.
